Griffith City Council is commencing the development of a new Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) and is inviting the community to get involved.
Under the Disability Inclusion Act 2014, councils across NSW are required to prepare a new DIAP every four years. These plans set out practical actions to make our community more accessible and inclusive for people with disability.
Council recently completed a review of the current DIAP, which was adopted in June 2025 following extensive community feedback. More than 50 submissions were received from local residents, community groups and Council staff, alongside valuable input from the Disability Inclusion & Access Committee.
Now, as Council begins developing the next Plan, we want to continue the conversation. Your feedback and lived experiences are vital to shaping a more inclusive Griffith for everyone.

Your feedback will help us develop our next Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP). This plan outlines how we will improve accessibility and inclusion across our region, guided by the four NSW DIAP goal areas:
Developing positive community attitudes and behaviours
Creating liveable communities
Supporting access to meaningful employment
Improving access to services and information
We want to hear from people with lived experience of disability, their families, carers, service providers, and the general community. All responses are confidential.
