Draft Onsite Detention Policy

At the Ordinary Meeting of Council held 26 November 2025 it was resolved that Council amends the Onsite Detention Policy CS-CP-404 to include:

Council takes ownership and maintenance responsibilities for Commercial, Industrial and Residential detention basins and related infrastructure in a Torrens Title subdivision. This is conditional that the land is vested in Council as part of the subdivision process, is created to cater for all lots within the subdivision and that the design of the detention system satisfies the conditions of consent and Council’s Engineering guidelines.

Council is required to notify the public and provide the opportunity for submissions regarding this local policy change for 42 days.

The draft Onsite Detention Policy may be viewed at the Council Chambers, 1 Benerembah Street Griffith, the Griffith City Library and on Council’s website at connect.griffith.nsw.gov.au.
