Griffith City Council has endorsed the draft Small Business Financial Assistance Policy for public exhibition, proposing a new program to support local small businesses.
The proposal was developed in response to feedback from the local business community, including Council’s Business Survey, which identified challenges relating to business sustainability, workforce development, digital capability and growth opportunities.
The proposed program includes a funding pool of up to $15,000, with grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 to support activities such as training, digital upgrades, marketing and business development.
The Griffith Business Chamber has also indicated its willingness to partner with Council and match funding contributions to increase the available funding pool.
If adopted, applications would be assessed through a merit-based process in line with the Griffith Economic Development Strategy.
Community members can view the draft policy and provide feedback via https://connect.griffith.nsw.gov.au/ until 4pm on Thursday, 11 June 2026.
Submissions received will be included in a report to be presented to an Ordinary Meeting of Council. As such, copies of all submissions (including the writer’s name and address) will form part of Council’s Business Paper and be available to the public.
