Griffith Economic Development Strategy
Griffith City Council is committed to fostering a vibrant and sustainable local economy. As part of this commitment, we are revising the Griffith Economic Development Strategy to ensure it continues to meet the evolving needs of our community. This revision process will involve updating economic data, reflecting community input, addressing emerging issues, and enhancing our strategic focus. We invite all residents and businesses to participate in this important initiative by providing feedback through our community survey.
What is an Economic Development Strategy?
An Economic Development Strategy is a comprehensive plan designed to promote the prosperity and sustainability of a region. It outlines the goals, objectives, and actions necessary to stimulate economic growth, attract investment, and improve the quality of life for residents. The strategy typically includes:
- Understanding the Economic Structure: Analysing the local economy's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
- Setting Objectives: Establishing clear goals for economic growth, job creation and investment attraction.
- Identifying Key Sectors: Focusing on industries that have the potential to drive economic development.
- Action Plans: Developing specific initiatives and projects to achieve the strategy's objectives.
- Collaborative Partnerships: Engaging with government agencies, businesses and the community to implement the strategy effectively.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly assessing the progress and impact of the strategy to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
