Background: In August 2025Griffith City Council received $3 million through the NSW Sustainable Communities Program, supported by an additional $1 million from Council, bringing the total project investment to $4 million.
This funding will help us deliver important upgrades that enhance Griffith’s liveability and celebrate our city’s natural and urban spaces. Works will focus on improving the Lake Wyangan Foreshore and enhancing the Griffith CBD, making these much-loved areas more welcoming, accessible and sustainable. The CBD Strategy has been a useful reference document to provide justification for several projects to uplift the CBD Streetscape.

Griffith CBD Enhancement Project Stage 1 has finished this stage
Council held a forum on 3 April 2025 alongside Griffith Business Chamber, with a local spending trends presentation from Spendmapp by Geografia. Participants included retailers, hospitality, banks, professionals and landlords. Councillors transcribed ideas from the community that aligned with the 8 key themes.

Concept designs will be presented to the Roads, Parks and Pathways Enhancement Committee in November. The Committee will put a recommendation to Council for the Council meeting on 9 December 2025.
